Oath of the Dead

In the frozen Utmark - The lawless land beyond the boundary stones - Fifteen year old Arnulf Haraldson earns his oath ring and swears to stand for his people.
He swears it the night before everything is taken from him
when the dead come to Brossfell. They leave his home in ruins and his sister in the hands of something ancient and patient. Bound by oath and grief, Arnulf and his sworn brother Eirik follow the trail north - into the marsh shadow of Blacksteel Castle, where the old gods watch from beyond the veil and the hungering dead will not rest.
